Jan Cummings and Peter Good believe that a simple truth of communication is
that its effectiveness changes as perceptions of words and images change.
And they love solving communication problems -- whether their own artistic
obsessions or the unique business and marketing needs of their many design
clients. Over the years they have created a myriad of identities, posters,
books, collateral, packaging, web sites and exhibits for Fortune 500
corporations, museums, arts-related organizations and entrepreneurial
companies.
In the past decade, Cummings & Good have designed new identites for the
Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism, The Mark Twain House & Museum,
the Wadsworth Atheneum, the Old State House, the Connecticut Humanities
Council, the University of Connecticut, Connecticut College, the Bartlett
Arboretum, the International Festival of Arts & Ideas New Haven, and the
Special Olympics World and Peace Games. Their colorful and clever posters,
banners and billboards are recognized throughout Connecticut, and their work
is consistently published in all the major graphic design periodicals in the
world.
In both their personal and professional lives they are inspired by the
challenges and richness of the external world. Not adhering to learned
doctrine, they follow an organic process—always evolving in response to
complex and dynamic needs. |
