Cummings & Good is a five-person (and one cat) graphic design studio in the timeless Connecticut River Valley town of Chester. Principals Peter Good and Jan Cummings Good create identities, posters, books, and brochures for Fortune 500 companies, creative entrepreneurs and artful non-profits. We’ve recently completed identities for the new Connecticut Science Center in Hartford and the new Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center & Theatre in Old Saybrook. Current projects include identities for the renamed Connecticut Landmarks as well as for Saltwater Farm, a new vineyard in Stonington. Also a poster for the Manchester String Quartet concert series at the National Institutes of Health, an invitation and poster for “Forces of Nature” a play reading commissioned by the Connecticut Forest & Parks Association, collateral material for JP Morgan’s International Council Meeting in Bejing, and an invitation to the February ‘08 Jasper Johns exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum in NYC. After a fabulous first year, we are having a “Star Sale” at C&G, our first floor shop. Now through February 17th, Chester Winter Carnivale Sunday, all winter clothing and accessories are marked 20 to 80% off. We’ll then close and reopen on Friday, April 4th, will all new Spring and Summer selections. There’ll be something for everyone, including the guys! Shop hours are Wednesday to Sunday 12 to 5.
